The international chamber orchestra Ardesko was formed in the Netherlands in 2007
and is led by Australian violinist Melanie Waite. The group varies in size depending
on the programme and performs in principle without a conductor. Striving to reach
as broad an audience as possible Ardesko performs music from all periods from baroque
to contemporary and places great importance on projects which break the mold of the
traditional classical concert. Performances include cutting edge arts festivals
such as Noorderzon and the Grachtenfestival, prestigious events like the ABN AMRO
New Year’s concert, leading concert halls including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and
collaborations with internationally acclaimed artists like the Balanescu Quartet.
